The poetry of "the unreal"

The series "The harbour at 5 PM" where begun for a group exhibition about the surrealistic heritage in art today.

The empty spaces, the long cast shadows and the "hard edge style" suggest de Chirico´s metaphysical paintings. However, they lack the grouping of objects that don´t have anything in common - this absurd juxtaposition of elements is what characterizes most surrealistic art.

Though definitely looking unreal and surrealistic to most viewers the pictures to some degree "shy away" from the surrealistic style too.
