We feel connected to animals because they are living organisms like us, but we can´t understand them since the don´t have a language. That is why we can´t stop trying to reach them anyway - to find a soul in that nature that can´t be denoted and therefore remains a riddle.

"Talking to animals" illustrates this in a simultaneously baroque and tragic way; the series shows individuals who naively try to communicate with our mute fellow creatures. The woman wants to interview the fish, Freud wants to analyze the bird, the naked man on the beach tries to send signals to the whale etc.
